Goodbye Agenting

Hi everyone!

Sadly, I have decided to leave agenting and publishing. This was a tough decision, and it breaks my heart, but I believe I am doing what is best for my health right now.

I hope to come back in some capacity someday, but for now, I will be focusing on my healthy and life.

Thank you all for your support, love, and care. I have genuinely enjoyed representing incredible literary voices and visually stunning illustrators.

Wishing you all the best of luck!

Tara

Deal Alert: SENSORY: LIFE ON THE SPECTRUM edited by Rebecca Ollerton

I am happy to announce that we sold world English rights to SENSORY: LIFE ON THE SPECTRUM, a graphic novel anthology, to Andrews McMeel publishing, in a pre-empt deal for publishing in fall 2022.

Rebecca had spearheaded this idea as a Kickstarter, working with several autistic creators. Once the news got out, we had editors reaching out wanting to publish this fantastic anthology. I’m so proud of Bex and all of the contributors, they did such a beautiful job. I can’t wait for you all to get your hands on a copy.

Welcome Katie Bucklein!

I’m excited to introduce my new client, Katie Bucklein!

I’ve been searching for a fantasy rom-com for ages and I finally found one! Katie’s story is great for fans for RED, WHITE, AND ROYAL BLUE and CARRY ON!

You’ll love WORK OF ART if you like:

  • Nonbinary rep.
  • Ex-best friends to lovers
  • “Oops, I raised the dead.”
  • Grounded fantasy in an alternate USA
  • Awesome sibling relationships

Katie Bucklein started writing at the age of twelve when a friend challenged her to a dare: who could finish writing a novel first? Spoiler alert: Katie won, and has since written contemporary, historical fiction, and dystopian, but found romance and fantasy to be her true love. The middle child of five, she grew up in California, went to high school in Arizona, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree for history in Idaho. Now pursuing a Master’s degree, she spends her days spelunking in museum basements and her nights writing, fueled by music and insomnia.

Welcome Arielle Guevara!

I’m excited to introduce my new client, Arielle Guevara!

Isn’t Arielle’s artwork beautiful! She has a wonderful story she is currently working on that I’m so excited to read. I adore her passion for the environment and the ocean that she builds into her art and stories.

Arielle Guevara is an illustrator and character designer. Born and raised in the Philippines, she graduated with a BFA in Animation from Savannah College of Art and Design. She is very passionate about sharing her Filipino culture and her advocacy for environmental conservation through her art.

When she isn’t drawing, Arielle enjoys a good iced coffee, listening to 80s music and freaking out over french bulldogs. She also co-hosts the podcast Hey, Hire Us where she interviews her artist friends and hypes them up to get hired.
